Columbia 57

4 / 16 - score 49%

The Columbia 57 is a 56.5ft masthead sloop designed by William Tripp Jr. and built in fiberglass by Columbia Yachts between 1969 and 1974.

11 units have been built.
It accomodates 7 people in 2 cabins plus salon.

The Columbia 57 is a moderate weight sailboat which is a reasonably good performer. It is very stable / stiff and has an excellent righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a heavy bluewater cruising boat. The fuel capacity is excellent.

Despite its low score, this boat is ranked in the top quarter. It seems difficult to do much better. It is one of the best possible tradeoffs for this request.
